Effective June 3rd, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use the Swriteo app and its web platform companion located at app.swriteo.com (collectively referred to as “the Service”). I (the developer, Noah Rahm) want to be transparent with you on how Swriteo handles permissions and your personal information. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at hi@swriteo.com.
By using the Service, you accept this Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions. Do not continue to use the Service if you do not agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions.
INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE
The Service itself does not operate a centralized user data backend. Your data is stored locally on your device or browser runtime, and synchronized securely through your personal third-party accounts. However, the Service integrates specific third-party utilities and monitoring analytics to enable core application features:
- RevenueCat & In-App Purchases: For cross-platform account management and in-app purchasing verification, the Service utilizes RevenueCat. Through RevenueCat, the Service securely associates your Google User ID with your purchase history. This data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with any other party. You may request that this link be deleted by contacting the above email.
- Google Sign-In and Google Drive Synchronization: To enable cross-platform cloud synchronization between Android and Web platforms, the Service utilizes Google Authentication. When you connect your Google Account, the Service requests access to your private Google Drive AppData Folder.
- What we collect/access: We only read and write your specific
swriteo_sync.sqlitedatabase and metadata backup files within this hidden, application-specific workspace directory [INDEX]. - How it is handled: The Service acts exclusively as a local client processing machine [INDEX]. Your binary text document database files flow strictly between your physical device/browser and your personal Google Drive cloud storage account. Your document data, texts, and database chunks are never transmitted, exposed, stored, or copied to any external servers or third parties under my control.
- What we collect/access: We only read and write your specific
- Matomo Analytics (Self-hosted): When utilizing the web platform of the Service, we collect basic, non-personally identifiable telemetry markers (such as page loading speeds, device operating system type, browser names, and unexpected JavaScript crash exceptions) via a self-hosted instance of Matomo. This logging is used exclusively to maintain web-app optimization, fix runtime bugs, and monitor resource layout performance. This analytical telemetry is hosted privately, is not linked to your identity, and is never shared with third-party advertising networks.
- Direct User Communications: I collect information contained within any messages and feedback you send directly to me (such as bug reports, emails, or optional surveys) or publicly post (such as in Google Play Store app reviews). This may include your email, device information, and/or any other details you choose to include.
COOKIES AND BROWSER STORAGE
The web companion component of the Service utilizes the browser’s native local storage (IndexedDB) to maintain your database records offline. It may also use first-party cookies specifically generated by our self-hosted Matomo analytics to track page navigation intervals. You can configure your browser to block cookies or clear local storage, but doing so will log you out and break the core synchronization and offline capabilities of the web application.
ACCOUNT LINKING & DATA DELETION
The Service does not host proprietary user accounts. However, it securely links your Google OAuth identity token with RevenueCat to verify your cross-platform pro entitlements. If you wish to permanently delete this entitlement data link and erase your tracking identifiers from the billing system, please send an explicit request from your registered email address to hi@swriteo.com. All verifiable deletion requests will be completed within 30 days.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for the Service or send any personal information about yourself. If I learn that personal information from a child under age 13 was collected, I will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a child under 13 may have provided personal information, please contact me at hi@swriteo.com.
UPDATES TO THIS POLICY
I may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. You should periodically check this page for updates to this policy.
